IR Receiver

IRMeasure Receiver is a device that takes care of the entire wireless communication with units.
It is directly connected with PC by USB or serial COM port.

Receiver is the cornerstone of the entire IRMeasure system since it receives all the data from individual units (what are the measuring results) and passes them to the IRMeasure application on
PC. Receiver is directly connected with your PC by USB or serial COM port. |

Receiver schematic
Receiver is receiving data in the form of IR light by using the SFH506 integrated circuit. PIC16F628 processes this data and converts it so that it can be passed to PC by a USB or serial port.

In case of serial Receiver MAX232 chip is used to convert data from TTL level.USB version is not using the MAX232 chip, instead it uses a special USB conversion module.
RS-232 Receiver
|
In case of serial version (RS232) you need the +8V to +15V external adapter for Receiver.
The current consumption is about 30-40 mA at 9V.

USB Receiver
|
This is the development version of USB Receiver. Its advantage is that it doesn't need external power supply since power is drained from the USB connector itself.
IRMeasure PC application allows to use both Receiver version (USB as well as Serial).

| Serial version of IRMeasure Receiver requires at
least Windows98. For the USB version you need at least Windows2000. |
